2006-2012-2

Since 2006 i-TEC has built its reputation by responding quickly and efficiently to the needs of its clients be they operators or specialized service providers.

From its inception the i-TEC team has been driven by a desire to design and build the most effective possible solutions to intervention and completion challenges. i-TEC has built its reputation by responding quickly and efficiently to the needs of its clients be they operators or specialized service providers. Over a relatively short time many such innovative or evolutionary developments have become the new industry standards.

In Jun 2008 i-TEC was approached by a major oil company who had an urgent need for a downhole production valve with performance requirements significantly beyond the envelope of existing products. Incumbent suppliers had been approached but failed to produce a solution. Rising to the challenge i-TEC produced a prototype within 10 days. The design was verified and a series of rigorous tests carried out. Six weeks from starting the project the design prototype was fully tested and certified.  Three weeks later the first batch of 11 i-Valves was delivered to the client. A total of 9 weeks from first enquiry to delivery!

In February 2009 one of the test valves was tested to 15,000 psi according to ISO 14310 V0 (gas tight). Subsequent evolutions of the i-Valve have been delivered to projects in Norway, Middle East and Africa. The design was also used as the basis for development of the i-Frac system.

During 2011 i-TEC was asked to recommend a stimulation solution for a multi zone, cemented well in the North Sea. The i-Frac CEM system was proposed. This system allows a number of stages, each with multiple sliding sleeves to be stimulated after cementing without intervention. Significant testing was carried out to verify the system for this application and yet the full batch was still made available to the client in just 8 weeks from initiation. After installation the completion was cemented and subsequently 56 sleeves in 3 zones were opened by pumping only 3 balls from surface. After the stimulation the company completions supervisor commented “We just made history!”

A similar system has been delivered to the same client and is expected to be installed during January 2012.
